You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the STEM Education Conference-cum-Carnival (STEMCC) 2016 to be held this Friday and Saturday (16-17 December) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK).

Jointly organised by the Department of Science and Environmental Studies and the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at EdUHK, STEMCC 2016 is one of a series of major events organised by the University to promote STEM education in the school sector. Co-organisers and major supporters include the Hong Kong Association of Science and Mathematics Education, Hong Kong Education City, the Faculty of Education at The University of Hong Kong, the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Education Bureau (EDB) of the HKSAR Government, among others.

In response to the recommendations and strategies for promoting STEM education among schools in Hong Kong proposed by the EDB/Curriculum Development Council in 2015, STEMCC 2016 aims to provide a platform for school leaders, curriculum developers, teachers, teacher educators and other stakeholders to share their ideas and experiences of organising STEM learning activities. It will also offer opportunities for primary and secondary students to share their STEM learning outcomes and experience new STEM ideas in exciting ways. 

Featuring at the event will be academic discussions including plenary talks, seminars and workshops. Teachers and students from EdUHK and other universities, primary and secondary schools, government departments, professional bodies, non-government organisations and providers of educational resources will also present entertaining learning activities such as exhibitions, outdoor demonstrations, visits and game booths, including VR experiences, 3D printing, drone photography etc.
