Putonghua Training and Testing Centre 20th Anniversary and Second International Conference on Chinese Language Education
You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the Putonghua Training and Testing Centre’s 20th Anniversary and the Second International Conference on Chinese Language Education, organised by the Putonghua Training and Testing Centre and the Department of Chinese Language Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), which will be held this Friday and Saturday (8-9 December) at EdUHK. Participating in the event will be experts, scholars and teachers from the United States, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Mainland China and Hong Kong.
The Conference will mark the 20th anniversary of establishment of the Putonghua Training and Testing Centre, provide an international platform for knowledge exchange among global Chinese education experts, and explore the latest developments in Chinese language teaching, including the status quo, and innovative approaches and developments in Putonghua teaching. EdUHK will sign the seventh Collaboration Agreement with the Institute of Applied Linguistics of China’s Ministry of Education. Officiating at the Opening Ceremony will be Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of EdUHK, Professor John Lee Chi-kin, Vice President (Academic) of EdUHK, and Mr Liu Pengjian, Deputy Director of the Institute of Applied Linguistics, Ministry of Education. The keynote speakers at the conference will be Mr Liu Pengjian, Institute of Applied Linguistics, Ministry of Education, Professor Chou Chih-ping, Princeton University, Professor Ko Hwawei, National Central University, Professor Wang Hui, Institute of Applied Linguistics, Ministry of Education, and Dr Cheung Lin-hong, EdUHK.
