Hon Dr Starry Lee Wai-king delivers lecture at EdUHK
The Hon Dr Starry Lee Wai-king, SBS, JP, Standing Committee Member of the 14th National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Legislative Council Member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, visited The Education University of Hong Kong as the distinguished guest speaker for the General Education Foundation Course, on 29 January 2024. The Hon Dr Lee gave a lecture on ‘The Legislative System of China and Duties of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee of the PRC’ to an audience of approximately 400 full-time first-year students. Dr Lee also participated in a dynamic question-and-answer session with the students, sharing her perspectives and experiences.
This lecture represented an invaluable opportunity for students to gain a deeper understanding of China’s legislative system, as well as the responsibilities of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee of the PRC.
The Hon Dr Starry Lee is currently our Honorary Professor at EdUHK. She was invited to share her insights and expertise as the distinguished speaker at the Leaders Dialogue on National Development from the Perspective of ‘Two Sessions’ on 18 April 2023. She also gave the first talk of the “NPC and National Committee for the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (NCCPPCC) Talk Series” on 28 November 2023.
