EdUHK Signs Agreement for Academic Collaborations with Turkish Maarif Foundation
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) established an academic partnership with the Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) on 23 April. This alliance aims to broaden opportunities for both academic and administrative collaboration, as well as foster joint research ventures.
President of EdUHK Professor John Lee Chi-Kin and President of TMF Professor Birol Akgün presided over the signing ceremony. Representatives from both sides also explored potential avenues and opportunities for future collaboration.
The partnership provides opportunities to explore different education ideas and methodologies, as well as learning about each other’s cultures, history, and languages. It also enhances faculty and student exchanges going forward, and both parties discussed opportunities for organising summer workshops to share best practices in learning and teaching, developing joint research initiatives, and working together on short-term courses and online teacher education focused on global engagement and East-West exchanges.
TMF provides a wide range of educational services abroad, spanning from preschool to higher education. It has established official relations with 104 countries, out of which, educational institutions and facilities have been set up in 44 countries, and a representative has been assigned in 67 countries.
