Launch of HK’s First-ever Best Teacher of the Elders Award Scheme
You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the inauguration of HK’s first-ever “Best Teacher of the Elders Award Scheme” on 17 December 2018 (Monday) organised by the Elder Academy at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). At the ceremony, a total of 40 “teachers of elder” will be conferred a Professional Certificate in Lifelong and Elderly Education as well.
The “Train-the-trainer” PC Programme enables devoted elderly teachers to pass on their knowledge and experience in advancing elderly education in Hong Kong. In recognition of the dedication and commitment of the practitioners in the field, and to promote the importance of elderly education and lifelong learning, EdUHK will launch the first-ever “Best Teacher of the Elders Award Scheme” in HK.
Officiating at the ceremony will be Professor John Lee Chi-kin, Vice President (Academic) of EdUHK; Mr Chan How-chi, Chairman of the Elderly Comission Committee on Elder Academy Development Foundation; Mr Patrick Ho Hin-ming, Assistant Chief Executive (Elderly Service) of Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service of Hong Kong; Mr Billie Lau Chung, Service Director (Elderly Service) of Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service of Hong Kong; and Professor Maureen Tam Siu-ling, Head of the EdUHK Elder Academy. In addition to the ceremony, the new batch of graduates will share their learning experience and deliver performance at the ceremony. Further details of the event are as follows:
