EdUHK’s Positive Education Conference: Cultivating the Visible Wellbeing and I-WELL’s 2nd Anniversary Ceremony
You and your representatives are cordially invited to cover a positive education conference titled “Cultivating Visible Wellbeing” to be held tomorrow (20 June).
At the conference, Professor Chiu Chi-yue, Dean of Social Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, will share his views about the growing interest of positive education. Speakers at the conference will include Dr Hung Se-fong, psychiatrist, Ms Chow Hoi-sze, registered clinical psychologist, and Ms Kwok Yee-tak, MBCT: mindfulness-based cognitive therapy teacher. Topics on the mental health and wellbeing of children and adolescents, the promotion of positive education and mental health in schools, and the cultivation of compassion through mindfulness training, with hands-on practice, among others, will be discussed. Three local teachers will also share their practical experience and “soft skills” they developed on their path of learning and teaching positive education.
Addressing the conference will be Professor Allan Walker, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Human Development at EdUHK and Professor Hue Ming-tak, Director of I-WELL and Head of Department of Special Education and Counselling at EdUHK. As the University is celebrating the second anniversary of I-WELL, Dr Yuen Chi-pun, Co-director of I-WELL will provide a review of the Centre’s key developments in the past two years.
