26th Primary STEAM Project Exhibition
You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the 26th Primary STEAM Project Exhibition (PSPE) themed “Climate Change”, to be co-organised by the Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development (CESD) and the Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES) of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), along with other parties on 8 May (Wednesday).
In recent years, STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) has become an important trend in education in Hong Kong and around the globe. The Hong Kong government has implemented a range of policy measures to encourage and cultivate students' development in STEAM. As the largest primary school STEAM inquiry-themed exhibition in the Hong Kong academic community, PSPE enables students to showcase their talent but also practically apply what they have learned.
Under the theme “Climate Change”, the Exhibition this year will display approximately 170 projects from local schools and schools in the Greater Bay Area. Innovative projects to be showcased include:
• A study on the impact of floods on soil erosion;
• A landslide warning device;
• Improvement in methods of solar energy collection;
• Exploration of the feasibility of using smart homes to reduce carbon emissions;
• The impact of ice cap melting on rising sea levels
