Professor Song Yanjie is Associate Director of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), and Associate Director of the Centre for Immersive Learning and Metaverse in Education (CILME). She obtained her PhD in Educational Technology at the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong, and her MEd in IT, Multimedia and Education at Faculty of Education, at the University of Leeds, UK. 

 

Professor Song has successfully led her team in developing several award-winning applications, including the AR and VR-supported vocabulary learning app, ‘VocabGo’; the collaborative, inquiry-based science learning app, ‘m-Orchestrate’; and the commercialised metaverse platform, ‘Learningverse’. Her team has secured several patents for technological innovations. She has a proven track record of obtaining competitive external research grants and other funding that have impacted education. Additionally, she was ranked among the top 2% of the world’s most-cited scientists in education in recent years, according to a list compiled by Stanford University.
