Green Finance: China and International Initiatives
Green Finance is a new but rapidly expanding area. It refers to environmentally responsible and low-carbon financial practices. Dr Ma Jun will deliver a speech and share his insight into the topic of global green and sustainable finance development as a key initiative and the measures supporting Hong Kong’s net zero agenda and the country’s "3060" target in relation to carbon emission peak and carbon neutrality.
The speaker:
Dr Ma Jun is the Chairman of Green Finance Committee of China Society for Finance and Banking. He is also the Co-Chair of G20 Sustainable Finance Study Group, Founder and President of the Institute of Finance and Sustainability, Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of the Green Investment Principles for the Belt & Road, Co-Chair of International Platform on Sustainable Finance Working Group on Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, President of Beijing Green Finance Association, and Chairman and President of Hong Kong Green Finance Association.
Dr Ma was formerly a member of People’s Bank of China’s (PBOC) Monetary Policy Committee, Chief Economist of the PBOC, Director of Center for Finance and Development at Tsinghua University, Chief Economist for Greater China at Deutsche Bank, Senior Economist at the World Bank, and Economist at the International Monetary Fund.
