Associate Vice President (Institutional Advancement)
Dr Chow Man-kong is Associate Vice President (Institutional Advancement) of The Education University of Hong Kong. He is responsible for University Advancement, Alumni Affairs, Global and Mainland Affairs, as well as promoting the University's development in the Greater Bay Area.
Dr Chow received his PhD in economic sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong, as well as a postgraduate diploma in education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (First Class Hons) from Hong Kong Baptist University. Prior to joining EdUHK, Dr Chow was Associate Director of the Pan Sutong Shanghai-Hong Kong Economic Policy Research Institute and the China Economic Research Programme of Lingnan University, and Director of the STEAM Education and Research Centre of Lingnan University.
Dr Chow’s areas of research interest include Chinese regional economic development, economic development of the Mainland and Hong Kong, applied public policy, Chinese family businesses, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the development of higher education. He has been involved in a substantial number of policy research reports and more than 10 publications. Dr Chow is also frequently invited to give lectures on Chinese regional economies and higher education development.
Dr Chow is currently a member of the Legislative Council (Election Committee) of the Hong Kong SAR, a committee member of the Chinese Association of Hong Kong & Macao Studies, and the Member of Expert Group, Chief Executive's Policy Unit, Hong Kong SAR Government. He puts forward and advises on public policies related to economic and education development.
